The
Teacher

I grew up in Morovis watching my father pull engines apart and put them back together with nothing but his own hands. Cars were part of my life long before I knew where they could take me.

But my first job wasn't in a garage. It was in a classroom. I taught English in Puerto Rico, and it taught me the lesson that shaped everything after.

Talent means very little until someone takes the time to develop it.

The
Soldier

In 2006 I joined the U.S. Army and went on to serve with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the Night Stalkers, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Preparation and details weren't optional there, and mistakes had real consequences. I led teams, trained soldiers and built career paths for the people coming up behind me. I was still a teacher. The classroom just got a lot harder.

The Grassroots
Racer

I didn't come into racing through an academy or with a big budget. I started where thousands of enthusiasts start: track days, in my own Nissan GT-R.

Track days became instructing. Instructing became competing in SCCA Time Trials, GRIDLIFE and Global Time Attack at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Along the way I learned how drivers really get faster: good data, honest feedback, safe systems and confidence built one lap at a time.

The Track
Director

Then I got to help build a racetrack from the ground up. As Track Director at Flatrock Motorclub, a private club circuit designed by Tilke, I helped stand up day-to-day track operations and installed its race-control and digital-marshaling systems.

For the first time I wasn't just showing up to drive. I was building the place where other people would. It showed me what's possible when vision, investment, technology and operations line up, and it's the experience I'm bringing home.

The Pro
Driver

In 2025 I was the only Puerto Rican driver in the inaugural McLaren Trophy America, racing the #52 McLaren Artura Trophy EVO for AERO-B Motorsports at Sonoma, Circuit of the Americas, Road America and Indianapolis.

We stood on the podium twice, and I carried the Puerto Rican flag up there with me. It didn't change what matters to me. It confirmed it: whether it's a first track day, a gentleman driver in a McLaren or a kid in a kart, the job is the same.

Back
Home

After 23 years away, I came home. Not to retire, but to bring everything I'd learned back with me.

When my son started karting, I saw Puerto Rican motorsports through a parent's eyes. Talented kids. Passionate families. Racers and mechanics working incredibly hard. And a lot of people who simply needed someone to show them where to start, and to keep them safe while they learn.

That's who I came home for. That's why Relent exists.
